Mighty mountains
tower proudly up into the deep blue sky - snow-capped marvels,
each and every
one of them! It's true! Gastein has never been such
an attractive choice of winter holiday than it is
now. So what's new? Well, the Angertal ski centre for
example, which only opened in 2004. With its
light tower, bar, children's area and indeed all of
its service facilities, this unmistakable edifice
really is setting new dimensions.

Unlimited skiing fun in Gasteinertal
with it's fantastic possibilities for skiers, carving
fans and boarders. Forty-eight modern lifts take you
into the alpine regions up to 2700m where there is sure
to be snow. Over 200 km of ski slopes, some of them
up to 8 km long provide well-groomed, varied downhill
runs.
For absolute freaks - special runs for carving - virgin
powder and firn. A skier's dream come true.
The half-pipes and fun parks are paradise for snowboarders.
A very special experience - once a week skiing by
floodlight! Above all you can be sure of there being
enough snow right up to the end of April. Afterwards
that cosy Après Ski atmosphere in a rustic hut
or at the snow bar in front of the hotel.
Gastein is a member of the ski region Amade. This means
that with only one ski pass you have a grandiose selection
of slopes consisting of 860 km and 270 lifts.

Entry to the cross country loipe only 5 minutes
away on foot.
We are the starting and finishing point of wonderful
winter walks.
We will provide you with toboggans if you want to
go sledding.

cleared invite you to walk. Stamp through the
snow, feel the crisp clear air on
your skin and enjoy the beautiful winter panorama.
Go on a guided winter
hike though romantic, snowy landscapes with
members of the Schwaiger family.
Many sunny moments in crystal
clear mountain air regenerate body and soul. Don't
forget to stop off at
a rustic hut for a drop or two on the way of course.

of the night around us turn these walks by the light of
flaming torches into an experience to be remembered. |

Ride through deepest winter in
Gastein, accompanied by sleigh bells which ring in tune
to the pace of the horses. Warm up in front of the fireplace
with a glass of spiked tea or a good glass of schnapps.
Warm, cosy, comfortable.
Once a week we will accompany
you on a very nice romantic outing. By sleigh to the
head of the valley to Prossau or to the dreamy mountain
meadow Strohlehenalm. The farmer's wife will cook "Gasteiner
Kasnocken" for us or make us a good snack of bread
and cured bacon. The thing to drink with it is a schnapps
distilled on the property namely a "Selbstgebrannter".An
unforgettable experience!

| At an
altitude of 1600 m where there is sure to be snow; more
than 60 km of cross-country ski tracks - for classic or
skating style.The tracks are surrounded by a splendid
panorama and are all within a 14km radius. You can also
learn to do this wonderful sport with qualified trainers
at the cross country ski school. |

Guided ski safaris - once
a week there is
an interesting introductory tour into the Gasteiner
ski region.
Accompanied by a qualified
ski guide you
can get to know the many and varied ski
slopes of Gastein.

Once a week there is a
guided hike through
deep powder snow.
The equipment you need
can be hired for a small fee.

skis up to the untouched wintry heights. Amazing
views and a fantastic panorama.
As a group accompanied
by a guide or if you would prefer, a tour just
for you alone.The local ski schools are glad to
give useful tips.

| .. on one of three natural toboggan
runs with a length of between 2,500 m and 2,300 m you
can sweep down into the valley. It's a great experience
which is a lot of fun. Several times a week there is night
time sledding. |
